We had a big rally at the Capitol Building in Nashville. TN Governor Bill Haslam was delivering his annual State of the State address today while we chanted in the hallway and outside on the street. The chants were loud, the spirits were high and the atmosphere was electric. We chanted in union (for the most part :)0, we yelled our lungs out from “No Hate, No Fear, Refugees are Welcome Here!” to “Black Live Matter!” to “This is what Democracy Looks Like” to “Haslam Can you Hear Us?” to “Her Body! Her Choice! My Body! My Choice! Nashville is rising, folks. Our Democratic state reps came out and shook our hands and stayed til the end of the rally and talked to us. It was peaceful but loud. We are energized. Now we need to organize, organize, organize. 2018 midterms you can’t come soon enough.

Update: And just like clockwork, GOP state rep Bailey is accusing us for being paid to protest.
For the record, not only did I not get paid, but I paid the city $7.50 by parking at the Public Library garage. My time was free of charge of course :)
