Well, here we are. We've survived another week on Earth. We're a bit older and perhaps a bit wiser. Today I'm celebrating my pennies for Doctors Without Borders reaching the 1,400 mark. This is the sort of trickling economics I can celebrate. My curiosity is caring for people all over the world. Seems like a good system to me.
At any rate, stepping over my own little, personal milepebbles, I'm here to offer up a space for you to share your news, your links, your recent diaries, your favorite old diaries, your bits of fluff and lint.
Dig in and drag out whatever's on your mind.
It's an open thread!
More of my own fluff below the fold.
I've been dragging my tail, my wee little tail, all week. #2 Son decided I needed to share in the joy of his cold. Sharing is caring, but I'm feeling considerably fluffier today.
It was a bit of a rough week. Mrs. the Werelynx was off at another conference in London until last night. #2 Son stayed home all week with his coughing crud, #1 Son joined us for a couple of days when some bug he picked up somewhere, possibly from contamination in the water supply to one part Prague near where he happens to go to school. I guess the water's sorted out and the lad was back in school quickly.
So, just the three of us, and none of us feeling too chipper. Mostly we managed to lay around like sea lions of a variety with an addiction to videos and video games.
In addition to trying the game Minecraft for the first time (pummeling #2 Son mercilessly until he gave me a turn on his laptop), I did manage to cook several meals, sweep the occasional floor, keep the dishes from piling up in the sink and do three loads of laundy. I actually got out one day, hitched up the huskies and braved the elements all the way to the local trading post for supplies. Yesterday I felt so perky that I hopped down with #1 Son and we repaired-replaced a strip of moldy molding that had actually blown off our car on the highway. The decorative bits and baubles are abandoning ship.
Did I mention that last weekend #1 Son mistook a razor-sharp sickle for a bacon slicer and his left pinkie for bacon? He's healing quickly and there doesn't seem to be a need for stitches... there might be a need for some BLTs though. I bought too many tomatoes. They tempted and taunted me at the store. Um... anyway-- yeah, despite his pinkie impairment, #1 Son did manage to help out a bit around the apartment this week.
I've been getting a bit of business correspondence done this week. Sending out the invoices-- oh, joy!
My most recent spurt of activity was adding a layer of color to a brush and ink drawing that I'd made a few weeks ago. I thought I'd share it with you:
And that's pretty much it around here. A few very slow pepper plants have decided to sprout finally, I forgot to take the garbage out, didn't clean the toilet all week-- yeah, it's been a rollercoaster hell-ride of thrills in the Werelynx household.
How are you holding up?
