Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation has shown promise for helping individuals recover memory from early onset Alzheimer's disease to traumatic brain injury to loss of oxygenation due to cardiac arrest or possible stroke. This therapy also seems to have an effect on treatment of migraines and enhance the learning ability of animal test subjects. Unlike deep brain stimulation, where electrodes are implanted in the brain itself, TMS is not invasive. To say the least it would cost much less and reduce the possibilities of complications from more invasive techniques. With all of us getting older and some of us having memory issues due to circumstances beyond our control, this offers some hope. Hope not just for ourselves, but for parents and children with brain issues such as memory and learning, or migraines and seizures.
