If you are especially squeamish you might want to pass on this story, but if you are willing to get past some really awful stuff and are angry about police brutality dig in. I will say that I know this young man, the story is true, and I am so seething mad about it that I will not rest until we change things in this country. If you are with me, solidarity my friend.

I find it hard to write about. As I mentioned, I know this young man. He is quiet, polite, intelligent, thoughtful and pretty deep. You notice him because of his handsome face and unique style. He is a pretty terrific kid.
I know he wouldn't be disrespectful or aggressive with a cop. Being a law student I can imagine him knowing his rights enough to politely question what was being done to him. But no matter what he did, no one deserves to be abused by the police. No one.
Albuquerque has been in crisis for weeks now since a rash of officer involved shootings. Most recently the 19 year old daughter of a magistrate judge was shot and killed while running from the police.
We must stand up, and we need help. The Justice Department is monitoring the situation here, but we need more than that. If this could happen to Jeremy it could happen to any one of us. If you are out there, we need your help.
