"Progressive Politics:Tennessee Style" (PPTS) is presenting a 24-week series investigating "The War on the Poor" in America. Today, we present the second of a three-part series on the third battlefield in that war: "The War On Women".
We will have, as our special guest, a woman who is helping, in a huge way, to lead the battle for women. You will not want to miss this show! Follow me just below the squiggledoodlethingey fold for the details.
First, here is some important information on how to access and participate in today's show:
How to find the show:Click here.
The chat window is at the bottom of this page. We do have a lively chat room with a lot of listeners participating on the subject of the episode. Your invitation, gold plated, to join in and participate is right here!
If you would like to call in during our live show, all you need to do is to call us at (646) 929 - 2495. Our screening Producer, Progressive Patty or Progressive Lindsey will ask you for a name, and the nature of your question or comment. All opinions are welcome, but we do ask that you play nice, and come prepared.
Our show is now a part of the Coffee Party USA Radio Network. This is the third network on the internet to pick up our show, and our listenership is growing very fast. Last week's show ended as being the most called in episode, and had the largest number of chatting listeners for any episode to date. We hope to continue the conversation (which is what we really want for every episode.) with you, this coming Sunday afternoon. The show airs live for two (2) hours, beginning at 2:00 PM (Central Time).
As has been the case since the first PPTS episode, this show's episodes are available for later listening, or download via the show archive on iTunes, which you can access from the show site's main page.
All episodes are also replayed each Thursday night, from 9-11 PM (Pacific Time) on the Netroots Radio Network.
It has been said, even here on the GOS, that if Southern Progressives are doing anything constructive, the rest of the world isn't hearing about it. I contend still that position to be a false one, and on today's show you are likely to understand why.
On our show today will be Sandy Oestreich, President of the National Equal Rights Alliance. The Equal Rights Amendment needs exactly three (3) State Legislatures to ratify before the ERA is realized as an Amendment to our Constitution. If you are a woman, or know one, this should matter very deeply to you.
To a very large degree, Sandy is THE person leading this particular battle FOR women from the State of Florida. The Florida Legislature is poised to actively pursue ratification of the ERA during THIS COMING Legislative Term. Sandy has been leading the charge on the ERA for more than eighteen years, and has built an amazing organization of effective, passionate citizens both male and female across the country.
She will share the progress made, and tell us how each of us can do something about the ERA, today. I hope you will listen, call in and chat during today's show and find out some very exciting and important news.
We're on the AIR!
We'll see YOU there!
