Sinclair Lewis has been said to write, "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."

I've gotten into so many screaming matches online regarding the Hobby Lobby decision that I thought I'd list all my objections here; we could also use a handy reference for the next battle. The more I read this decision, the most objections I have.

Lots of very smart people have been talking about the debt ceiling extortion.... oops, I mean "compromise" (here and here, to start), and I certainly have nothing new to add to the debate. But I'm going to anyways below the fold.

As a news and Internet junkie, I've read so many articles on the health care debate, both for and against, that my head want to explode. I've also read some wonderful diaries here on dKos about personal experiences. May I join the party?

I attended a healthcare rally in Seattle recently and realized that the only way to move opinion is with our personal stories. A lot of us have heard, "I don't like [insert "other" political group, racial group, etc. here], but So-and-So... well, HE's okay". It's different when you know someone, right?

So let's get to know each other. Let me tell you about my niece.

When I was a kid in the 1970's, I wanted to be a disk jockey. During the day, everyone in my small Southern town had their radios tuned to the local radio station. Pop and country music, local commercials ("Come down to Honest Dave's Car Lot - we'll fix ya'all up!"), and the news and Paul Harvey at noon. But at night I'd lay in bed fine-tuning my transistor radio to pick up WLS in Chicago (top 40 radio! Rock and roll!).

Ah, those were the days. Nearly every voice on the radio was someone I knew... and then one day, it was MY voice.
