With the election over, so many of us feel just let down or unmotivated. It happens. Right now, though is an exciting time for you to be involved in your party. Because I know this event didn't receive wide enough circulation, I want to make sure that everyone is aware of a Kansas Democratic Party Listening tour even to be hosted in Manhattan.
I'm extending this offer as widely as possible, because I realize I'm doing it late. Sorry about that.

Subject: Election Recap Meeting in Manhattan
Good morning Democrats,
On Wednesday, November 12 at 6:30pm in the Manhattan Public Library the Kansas Democratic Party Executive Director Jason Perkey will be holding a meeting to discuss the election as well as to start making plans to move forward.
We would appreciate all of you attending this meeting to give us feedback about what direction you would like to see the party go in the future and to answer three simple questions: What we should stop doing, what we should keep doing but do better, and what we need to start doing.
This meeting is open to any Democrat and we look forward to listening working together with all of you to keep the momentum going.
Thank You for all that you do!

Sunday morning emails often get missed. I strongly encourage all of you to attend this meeting, and to allow the state party to talk. Show them respect in their meeting, feel free to ask questions, but I think this is an ideal time to discuss the future of our party.
I'm glad to announce that we will be hosting a Connect! Act! Unite! event at the end of each of this, set to start at 7:30. We will provide basic food (potluck, with a vegetarian option) and drinks. Location will be announced after RSVPs, as we have two locations we could use, but it depends on how many RSVPs I get locally and elsewhere.
While I am aware that there are many who disagree with my approach to change, everyone - even those who disagree with my ideas, are welcome to attend. We'll freely discuss the election 2014, where progressives were successful (Minimum wage in Nebraska AND Arkansas!) and where we didn't do so well. We'll have a presentation including Howard Dean's recap on Meet the Press.
I've notified all the local press, and I welcome them to attend our meeting. I cannot speak to the public event at KDP, but as an open meeting in a public space, I believe you will be welcome.
If you wish to come and talk to me personally - whether it is to positive or negative, I'm not going to hide out from my analysis.
Thank you, and I look forward to meeting many of you again in Manhattan.
(please note: as a K-Stater, there is one topic I will not discuss on Wednesday, and that's the TCU game, and discussion of the TCU game may force me to walk away)
