I'm sick and tired, of being sick and tired, of seeing women's rights gutted and stomped on by misogynist GOP politicians and corporations. As an artist, I will no longer purchase my supplies from Hobby Lobby. Rarely do I use the words 'always' and 'never'. In this case, I can say I will never step foot in another Hobby Lobby store again.

To use religion as their stance, then import products from China, knowing China has forced-abortions, and in some areas, horrible working conditions and a lack of human rights, Hobby Lobby is guilty of the worst kind of blasphemy and hypocrisy. This Hobby Lobby case is not about religion - It's about THE MONEY. Money and control.

This is my public goodbye to Hobby Lobby and my happy hello to small, locally-owned art supply shops - where I should have been shopping in the first place.

* Updated (from the Original Diary): The Hobby Lobby lawsuit was decided by the Supreme Court in June, with Hobby Lobby prevailing in their action. You can write SCOTUS here. This country was created for and by the people - not for and by corporations, big banks, and the Koch brothers. After the shameful McCutchen and Citizens United SCOTUS decisions, it's time for the people to demand democracy. We will vote and overturn this GOP majority, or I fear we will have a revolution on our hands. The people can take just so much.

There are ways to get involved. Here are 10 of many women's rights Facebook groups/organizations, big and small, that are working to protect women's reproductive rights. They are in no specific order:

Planned Parenthood
Fight Laws Against Women
Pro-Choice Liberals
Chicks On The Left
We Are Fuse
Lady Liberals
Guttmcaher Institue is an excellent source of reproductive rights legislation. It lists bills that have been passed/enacted this year, and the lawmakers that signed them into law.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
