Do we have infiltrators at DailyKos? Are there false-flag op diaries? You probably wondered about that. I sure did. Wonder no more. Here’s a bona fide Republican operative trolling social media — it’s not just Daily Kos, but Twitter and Facebook as well.
Consider the materials posted under the username of Nadia Asencio here. The most recent diary — “The tragedy of Hillary Rodham Clinton, “ sharing revelations along the lines of…
Then came the Benghazi attack, and rumors of gun-running to Syria through the embassy. Then came the email controversy, still currently being investigated by the FBI...
Besides containing these talking points (and Sen. Sanders was pretty clear on Benghazi), something struck me as odd about that diary — it was a little too well-written and too long, so I did a little digging (only sources open to public, including Daily Kos profile, and no doxxing, just searching for account — not person's — name), and found a very interesting Twitter feed, linking to the Daily Kos posts (including the one cited and linked above), and mostly sharing lots of anti-Clinton and anti-Cruz content, with some pro-Sanders stuff thrown in.
The Facebook account has different content, interestingly, including pro-Sanders and pro-Putin stuff.
The site linked from Facebook contains more of the same plus advice on how to get out of the friendzone. But the most interesting is the LinkedIn profile, where it is revealed that (bolding mine) ...
Ms. Asencio has extensive experience in Miami’s local politics, having worked for various notable campaigns such as Rick Scott’s gubernatorial run and serving three years on Miami’s Republican Executive Committee (REC). She’s worked as a Supervisor for the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF), and as a Field Associate for Americans for Prosperity (AFP). She was also the Treasurer and Events Coordinator for the Women’s Republican Club of Miami, Federated (WRCMF), an affiliate of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), a grassroots organization that boasts over 100,000 members throughout the country; she is currently working with thousands of American voters nationwide through the Committee for a Unified Independent Party (CUIP) to advance the structural reforms that will allow the American people to participate more directly in the political and policymaking process.
A seasoned Republican operative experiencing a road to Damascus conversion moment and “feeling the Bern?” A story of such a conversion surely would have made news in the blogosphere? Where is it then?
I think the truth is somewhat different… Folks, we’ve got us a troll.
